Our favourite 5 for eating out in St.Andrews

Balgove Larder: Steak Barn, pictured above

The Adamson |

One of our very favourites; The food, the cocktails, the service and the overall ambience and are all top-class here. We love The Adamson because it’s great fun, as well as serving really wonderful, modern and inventive food.  It’s the perfect place to treat friends or family to a fabulous dinner but is equally welcoming for a cosy, romantic night for two. The Adamson has become one of our local go-to restaurants and we have truly welcomed it’s addition to the St.Andrews food scene.

The Tail End |

The Tail End is a fish & chip bar with a difference … and it’s a bloody great! The freshest of fish and the crispiest of chips are served alongside more exotic seafood specialities, including seared scallops and Arbroath smokies. Here you can enjoy a real taste of the seaside, to sit in to take-away (and without breaking the bank). Furthermore, The Tail End keenly supports other local business and happily promotes some of St.Andrews finest beers, baked goods and ice cream – perfect for that extra, after-dinner treat.

Balgove Larder | Steak Barn |

The deli and cafe at Balgove offer local, fresh produce in an authentic farm setting and are a great place to drop in for a tasty, home-style lunch. However it’s the steak barn that gains our excitement in our top 5 Eating Out. With walls lined in tradition potato boxes and large, rustic communal tables, this place is relaxed, enjoyable and a little bit different. 28-day aged steaks, from the farms’ own animals, and are cooked on a massive wood fired BBQ. Bring your kids, bring your friends, this places promises to be a fun and tasty evening out.

The Seafood Restaurant |

The Seafood restaurant is a sophisticated and elegant restaurant, situated in one of the most beautiful locations in St.Andrews. Here you can enjoy seafood of the highest quality from tables with views stretching across the West Sands. An indulgent evening, the views alone make this one a must for any visitor to St.Andrews.

The Jahangir  |

I couldn’t leave this one out, simply because we have enjoyed so many wonderful meals from here. This is a regular of ours and the food never disappoints. Hearty, Indian food with wonderful spicing, served but the most generous and welcoming staff. If you are looking for a great, local Indian meal you really can’t beat this special restaurant.
