The pressure is upon student groups to find accommodation in St.Andrews for the upcoming academic year 2019/20. With the introduction of Private Residential Tenancy Agreements in Scotland we find ourselves waiting for termination notices from existing tenants before being able to offer properties for rent again. Many of our students groups have provided this advance notice but there are many more that we are waiting for.
A great “whoop” can be heard in the office when a notice is received as we are then able to advise prospective tenants who are anxiously waiting to hear about new properties becoming available.
So that students are ready to apply we suggest applications are prepared and ready to submit when there is a property of interest advised.
This is what we need from you:
A completed application form – this can be downloaded from this web site
Two references per person. We require to see the latest reference from your landlord or letting agency if you are already in rented accommodation. Other references can be from warden of your hall, employer, head teacher, minister or family friend.
Photographic ID (passport or driving licence)
Proof of current address (utility bill or bank statement)
A letter from the University confirming your student status
For students funded/paid by an organisation or government, evidence of paid income or funding for living expenses.
One guarantor is required per applicant who undertakes to sign the tenancy agreement in which they commit to cover any outstanding amounts due from the tenant. We require the following information form the guarantor: Photographic ID (copy of passport of driving licence) Proof of Current Address (utility bill, bank statement or driving licence) Email Address and Telephone Number and to sign a statement of intent which will be forwarded to them.
We wish you every success with finding a lovely new home.
